A couple of weeks ago I bought green onions for a recipe that resulted in a leftover short sprig.
Well, lo and behold earlier that day I stumbled across a pin about how to grow your own green onions. I gave it a shot and the results are pretty fantastic.
I just have to figure out how to keep this onion growing long-term — do I keep it in water? Do I plant it? Hmm… I’m sure there’s a pin for that, too.
DIY Grow Your Own Green Onions
Directions
- The next time you have green onions, don’t throw away the white ends.
- Simply submerge them in a glass of water and place them in a sunny window.
- Your onions will begin to grow almost immediately and can be harvested almost indefinitely!
