Autumn came and went, and what a whirlwind the past couple of months have been! More on that later. 🙂 As always, I tried to squeeze in as many fall favorites as possible, beginning with…
Partaking in our family’s annual apple picking outing in Chester, NJ. Apples, cider donuts, oh my! Calories don’t count on this glorious day. Attending one of my bestie’s (and fellow blogger, check out JanisCakes.com) Halloween party that had the most amazing food and view of NYC.
Heading up to the Hudson Valley to go to the best restaurant in Tarrytown, NY called Sweet Grass Grill. Followed by the sold-out annual Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze where Hubs joked, “I love traveling an hour to see pumpkins.” They ended up being the most amazing pumpkins ever.
Loving that my work entails going on historic tours at Colonial Williamsburg. As a history nerd, it was amazing to see the bright and bold colors folks used hundreds of years ago. The photo in the lower left corner shows the layers of paint conservationists analyzed to figure out the original color. Yup, I was a kid in a candy store.
Feeling extremely old as I attended my 10-year high school reunion. Luckily I had two besties in tow, Kim and Blair. We think that our husbands had more fun than we did! Celebrating Hubs’ 29th birthday at our most favorite restaurant, The Huntley Taverne. Laughing hysterically playing Cards Against Humanity for the first time. It is truly a game for horrible people. Playing in a playground, just because. Catching my cousin Kaitlyn steal a Christmas cookie. Her face is priceless.
Wiping away tears as my beautiful bestie Anna tied the knot. Nothing beats a bride’s beauty on her wedding day. She gave Angelina Jolie a run for her money.
Experiencing three time zones within five days: Eastern, Central and Pacific. Work called for press events, and I had my first slice of deep dish pizza (eh, I prefer Jersey/NY thin slices!), saw the most amazing sunset in San Francisco and ate at my first two Michelin Star restaurant, Quince.
Welcoming winter and the scents and sounds of Christmas with open arms. Seeing the Nutcracker for the very first time, indulging in Dunkin Donuts’ Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate and Hubs and I opening presents Christmas morning in front of our TV’s yule log.
Escaping cold weather for a few days with a trip down to Miami. Ah, Hubs and I could’ve got used to the beach in January! A little relaxing, a dinner in Key Largo to watch the sunset and have the best key lime pie ever and just like that… we were back to New Jersey.
But we had plenty to do in New Jersey…
Because the past few months have been consumed with this bit of news: we’re pregnant! Hubs and I will welcome our little girl in July 2015 and we can’t be more thrilled.
November was filled with keeping our little secret to ourselves, early December we shared the news with our parents and siblings, then on Christmas we spread the news… needless to say, she won’t have any shortage of babysitters! 🙂
What will the next couple of months bring? I can’t wait to find out!
