Since our exciting news of Baby Girl on Christmas, life has been quite the whirlwind! Looking back it’s hard believe we squeezed so much into four months. Just where does the time go?! Shortly after Hubs and I’s winter escape to Miami, I was off…
Flying to Toronto to attend the trendy International Design Show for work. I love traveling to new cities, even if it means seeing the inside of a hotel for 2-3 days straight.
PS: Aren’t those the most adorable cookies ever?
Becoming obsessed with ice cream. My first true pregnancy craving. Whenever possible I piled my ice cream with heaps of rainbow sprinkles. This craving also included tall glasses of cold milk. But honestly, who doesn’t love ice cream?
Cracking up at my grocery store the night before a snowstorm. Nearly all of the milk was gone. And meat. And bread. Do people really think we’ll be trapped for weeks on end? It’s a couple inches of snow, people! Relaxxxxx.
Attending my friend Julie’s second annual Pi Party and making a blueberry crumble pie. Indulging at my late Grandpa’s favorite dive, The Hot Grill (a roast beef platter, easy on the gravy, please!). Making a batch of my Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies for my brother in the Marines, only to find out he picked out all of the cherries. Sigh.
Laughing hysterically while playing Cards Against Humanity. It truly is a game for horrible people. And of course, indulging in a Downton Abbey marathon complete with scones and my Downton Abbey Lemon Tart (Fancy Fork’s #1 recipe!).
Flying off (again) to Atlanta. Another city I had never been before! As a Walking Dead fan, I instantly recognized the skyline and started getting the heebie jeebies. But not soon enough did I see a sign pointing me to Terminus. NoThankYou.
Flying off (again!) to Charleston! An adorable city that was also a first on my list. Although traveling for work, we were able to sneak in an afternoon downtown for local coffee shop chai tea [not pictured below] and an incredible lunch at Five Loaves Café.
Planning and decorating the space for a bestie’s baby shower. The jungle theme was super adorable. I even got Hubs in on the action, enlisting his help for the DIY Gold Animals. Just about 2 weeks later, I was able to hold this little man in the hospital. We’re already scheming that he and Baby Girl will go to prom together.
Heading into NYC for the Architectural Digest Home Show. I’m constantly amazed at how easy interior designers make these spaces come together. It’s the unexpected pattern or texture. Like tea saucers on a stove’s back splash or a surprise nautical sconce in a hallway.
I went home that night and hated everything in my apartment.
Having so much fun at a girls weekend in the Poconos. A combination of preggos and non-preggos equals drunk outlet shopping with guaranteed DDs and a judgement-free zone for cookie and donut eating.
Driving into NYC for the first time in my life to attend the domino Preview Party. I was so proud of myself (I really, really did it!). And good thing, because at this event I discovered the fiddle leaf fig tree and told Hubs we need one immediately.
Turns out, NYC wasn’t scary– it’s New Jersey coming home via the Holland Tunnel. I think I made about 5 wrong turns before I ended up on the ugliest road, the NJ Turnpike.
Cheering for the New Jersey Devils at their last home game of the season! This was a birthday celebration I planned for Hubs back in December. We were so excited to have an even group of Devils vs. Rangers fans together.
Falling in love with spring! Before the snow melted, I made a pretty DIY Spring Décor piece from some sale items I bought at Michael’s. Bringing home freshly cut tulips and having a giant smile on my face whenever I walked by them.
My aunt and cousin stopping by to color Easter eggs. With lots of glitter. I secretly think they just wanted to feel my belly. That’s two babysitters lined up!
Telling myself that it’s OK that it took 2.5 years for me to make my wedding album. In all honesty, I’m glad I did. I appreciate the memories so much more now.
Gladly accepting a fancy schmancy macaron at work. Having breakfast with Hubs and a bestie at an adorable little eatery in Montclair, NJ called Toast. I heard their red velvet pancakes are to die for, but I didn’t dare.
Being completely over the moon at the prospect of being this little girl’s mom. While I feel like I’ve been pregnant forever, the weeks are now flying by super fast. Ten more to go!
But, Baby Girl… one thing is for sure. You do not get your flexibility from me. Because I love you so, my belly can be your hot yoga studio anytime.
