Oh, hey. Remember me? I’m finally surfacing and finding balance in my newest role: Mom.
The past few months have been a whirlwind of watching Baby Girl hit milestones and grow, while enjoying time with family and friends. Our adventures have dwindled, but I wouldn’t change our new life for the world. #SoObsessed
Spending the heart of summer getting in the parenting groove: sleep schedules, on-demand feeding, figuring out what cry means what and sorting through breastfeeding challenges. New Moms, if you can make it out of this two month period with taking a shower and dressing like an adult everyday, you are a Jedi Master.
Saying adieu to summer in the most romantic way: a wedding! Hubs wobbled down the aisle with a broken foot, yet still managed to dance the night away with me. Putting Baby Girl in the first dress I bought her, which made my heart gush.
Welcoming fall with some pumpkin picking, long walks and warm beverages. Baby Girl deciding she prefers Mommy’s Maui Jim sunglasses instead of her plastic ones. Little lady has style!
Finding out a BFF is preggers and having to keep it a secret for months! Funny, when you’re not the pregnant one it feels much longer. Taking Baby Girl to a Philadelphia museum and trendy restaurant. Although we had help from grandparents, Hubs and I came home and expected an Olympic awards ceremony.
Having lots of October fun with warm afternoons, two Halloween costumes (Baby Doctor and Princess!) and even more adventuring out into the real world to places like Reading Terminal Market. *blinking towards the sun*
Entering into the holiday season with lots of family time. Baby Girl approving of the Macy’s Thanksgiving turkey, visiting her first zoo and getting an endless supply of kisses.
Getting soooo excited to decorate for our first Christmas as a family of three, by even decorating Baby Girl’s crib. Celebrating Hubs’ 30th birthday with a fancy breakfast and a dinner/movie gift to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens in IMAX/3D (I was oddly excited that we had to stand in line).
Taking Baby Girl to story time, Grandma going crazy and buying six different Disney princesses, visiting the Philadelphia Christmas Village and of course, photos with Santa. Who thought I was Baby Girl’s sister.
Wrapping up 2015 with: our first ever family Christmas card, cuddles from friends and family, picking ornaments off the tree, champagne toast for my new job (yay!) and a sleepy Bub ringing in the new year.
Life is so incredibly good. It’s amazing how one little human can change your world. 🙂
