A cozy mug of hot chocolate while it flurries outside, wrapped in warm blankets on the couch. That’s what Hubs and I did this afternoon while he watched NFL’s RedZone (omg, they never go back to regular TV once subscribed!) and I read my Kindle.
I wish I can take full credit for this delicious, spiced hot chocolate, but… last winter Hubs made me hot chocolate with a “secret” ingredient (cinnamon!) and I never looked back. I make it like this every time and I thought I’d share it with you!
This hot chocolate is so easy to make. All you need is a packet of hot chocolate mix, mug of hot water, splash of milk, a handful of mini marshmallows and a sprinkle of cinnamon. The combination of the milk and melting marshmallows make the hot chocolate creamy, while the cinnamon gives it that indescribable warmth!
I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. If you want to make it an adult beverage, add a splash of Café Patron or Baileys.
- 1 packet of NESTLÉ Dark Chocolate Hot Cocoa (or, any hot cocoa packet will do)
- 1 1/2 cups of hot water (enough to fill a mug 3/4 of the way)
- Splash of milk (about 2-3 tablespoons worth)
- 4 tablespoons mini marshmallows
- Cinnamon
- Optional: Splash of Café Patron or Baileys
- Mix the hot cocoa packet with the hot water.
- Add a splash of milk (and 1/2 a shot of alcohol, if using), stir.
- Top with marshmallows and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Thanks! I have yet to try that version, too! I think there’s a Vanilla Cinnamon Baileys…. mmmm!
