When was the last time you properly cleaned your yoga mat? *Crickets*
Join the club if you answer is ‘never’! Saying it out loud is a little embarrassing, considering where my yoga mat has been over the last eight (gasp!) years. In order of the nastiest to cleanest places, my yoga mat has made frequent visits to a:
- College gym floor
- Public gym floor
- Yoga studio floor
- Private gym floor
- My apartment floor (ok, this one is clean)
I’ve sprayed my mat down a few times over the years, but never thought to put it through the washer. Make sure you do it once a month if you use your mat regularly – it’s very easy to do!

Cool! I never knew you could wash a mat win the wash! And WHY didn’t I ever hear March Forth before?! Love it!

I know, right?! It’s so easy. About March Forth… my friend casually mentioned it to me yesterday. The funniest thing was that I was rambling about 30 minutes is the length of a TV show — that if I can sit on my bum and watch it, I can equally go to the gym and feel better about myself (plus, once you’re there it’s likely you’ll stay longer). To which she said, “Well GOOD! Because today is March 4th!” and went on to explain the concept. *Seems that I was destined!*
