Hubs and I are coming up on our one year wedding anniversary (WOW!), so in honor of our honeymoon in Maui I’m bringing you one of my favorite sandwiches from our hotel there… I must have ordered it about 4 or 5 times… the B.L.T.A., a bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado.
This BLT has the thick cut bacon and avocado, which are just amazing. Also, it gives me a fantastic excuse to browse through my Maui photos…. like….the most amazing view in the world. This can’t be real.
The gorgeous sunsets we had every evening. No, that’s not a desktop background. Nor, is it Photoshopped.
The adventures Hubs and I would go on during the day. Yes, that heart is a natural formation!

Did I mention the rainbows?
Like how they’re everywhere?
And how we saw the BEGINNING of a rainbow?! OhmyGod, OhmyGod, OhmyGod!! On our way back to the hotel, we pulled over on the Road to Hana I jumped out of the jeep in my SOCKS and prompted to freak out at the pure beauty of this rainbow.
And of course, the original BLTA we’d enjoy poolside.
I want to go back. Now.
- 2 slices of multi-grain bread, toasted
- Mayonnaise
- 2 slices of thick cut bacon, cooked until crispy (almost burnt)
- 1 big leaf of lettuce
- 2 slices of tomato
- 2 slices of avocado
- Bean sprouts
- Salt and pepper
- Spread mayonnaise on each slice of toast.
- Layer – bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado and bean sprouts.
- Sprinkle open sandwich with salt and pepper. Top with other slice of toast.
- Cut in half and enjoy!
